Why exercise the brain?
It constantly amazes me the reaction we get when we mention exercises for the brain. It's as though the subject is taboo to some, or an expression of weakness to admit partaking in this form of exercise.
The brain is our number one asset. At this point in time it can not be replaced like a hip or a knee, it needs to be kept in good shape to support the rest of our body, it needs good nutrition, clean water and exercise.
Reasons why you should do Brainasize
Do you want faster recall?
Do you want improved memory?
Do you want better focus and concentration?
Do you want to improve study or work habits?
Frequently asked questions.
Q/ When should we begin exercises in the brain?
A/ At about age 8 years old
Q/ When should we stop exercising the brain?
A/ Never
Q/ I am old, why bother?
A/ Do you want to age gracefully, make your own decisions, keep your license?
Frequent excuses
Too late for me, I am old
I do suduko and cross words
I don't have time
There is nothing wrong with my brain
Yes I must do that one day
Tried it once but it wasn't my thing
I really should do it, I need it.
Think about how you treat your body and answer these questions? Do you exercise? Gym, walking swimming to keep your body in shape? Do you go on diets or food regimes to keep your body trim, taut and terrific? Do you study to achieve success in the workplace?
So what about your brain(your main asset); Do you exercise this major organ daily?
Okay so we have established that Brainasize is a necessary part of keeping our major asset in trim.
How long does it take? Some Brainasize most days is recommended, but can be incorporated into your daily routine. This is why we have created an online option for everyday fitness. The five minute videos give a range of exercises that can be incorporated into your daily lives with very little disruption. The reason we change them periodically is The Brain loves novelty. Doing the same exercise every day soon creates a muscle memory and takes away the effectiveness of Brain exercises.
We use a variety of fun exercises, crossing the mid line, music options, voice projection, breathing techniques, juggling ball options, seated or standing options, things you can do in the workplace, watching TV or on the bus.
So to recap... We all need brain exercises, we all need to stop making excuses and protect and enhance our number one asset, and we need to challenge our friends and families to be brain conscious.
Don't hesitate, start exercising with Brainasize.
Simplicity
What is missing in today's busy life style? What is everyone searching for?
Simplicity:
In our search to make a better world we have forgotten how to enjoy the simple side of life that makes so many activities more enjoyable. We are expected to have the latest IT, the biggest TV, Netflix, cook like a chef, play music like a professional, and when we don't have these things, we begin to doubt ourselves. This is why Ma's Pantry exists. To help people who want to make a difference in their lives and bring back simplicity. Beautiful, nourishing meals can be made without being a chef, beautiful music can be played without being a professional musician, amazing art and craft can be created by you and wonderful stories can be told with out being a published author. I love the internet and google. I certainly would have helped when I was at high school but there is still something special about an encyclopedia you cant get on the internet. Too many choices and opinions confuse us on google. For every thing you want to know there are thousands of opinions, often very misleading. I don't suggest you rush out and buy and encyclopedia as this is just an example of too many choices. Again it is about simplifying things. When I grew up in the sixties, you went to the shop and bought a bottle of milk, now as a non milk drinker, its like "wow" what do I buy. My friends know, if they come to my place and they don't drink almond milk... bring your own. Simple and its ok. They know me now. We don't cook special meals, we cook meals we can all eat. My friends and family know my food will be gluten and dairy free and they love it. People miss the simplicity of food. When I worked in a certain motel/restaurant years ago, the chef came to me and said he had a lot of return salesmen tired of eating gateau's and fancy desserts. What did I suggest? We made a few rice puddings and bread and butter puddings served in champagne glasses just for these customers and they loved them. Very soon other customers were going "OMG my grandmother used to make that, can I have one too". Next thing they were favourites on the menu. Sometimes its about creative presentation of a simple dish which wins the hearts of the family. Like my broken cup cakes or sunk in the middle cake that become a delicious trifle. Mince is mince until served in a pie and then every one wants a piece.
A picnic by a waterfall or at the beach can often be made as much fun as dragging around a fair. A party for a kid with lots of games is memorable to everyone, especially after, when your sit down and put your feet up with a glass of wine and swear it will be McDonald's next year, but the warm fuzzies from the kids change your mind. Cut back on choices, cut back on menu's, leave being professional and fancy to people who are getting paid to do it. "Simple in a Champagne Glass"
